It is no secret that this area of the world has seen its forest being particularly threatened over the years, and we want to take our share of responsibility to protect it. Indeed, these wild nuts allow the zafreros (wild Brazil nuts collectors) to build a sustainable economy out of the forest’s natural production thus countering deforestation due to soy cultivation or cattle breeding. We have partnered with the indigenous community of El Chorro located close to Cobija in Bolivia (right in the middle of Amazon rainforest, close to the border with Brazil), and fair trade labellised BIOPARTENAIRE® this program and have collected $ 8500 for their first development fund in 2019.
